We showed you how to do the basic blanket stitch, but now we want you to see what it looks like when you add it to the edge of your work. With this stitching, you will be stitching these two pieces together. You could use this to do circles, leaves- whatever shape you need or are working with. Begin with you knot on the bottom and come up from the back side.
Again, we have used staples to hold our pieces while we stitch. We don't recommend using pins, because it's easy to get tangled up in the pins when you are stitching. And staples can be easily removed. You can see the bar at the bottom of the edge of you one wool piece and see how it gives your pieces a finished look.
Once you have finished your stitching, you can remove the staples. Sometimes people ask, 'how do I know which stitch to use when I'm stitching' If your piece is small, we recommend using the whip stitch, for finishing the edge of your work, the blanket stitch. However, there is no 'stitch police' that is going to come after, so stitch it how you like, after all it is your masterpiece!
